Reservoir Bathymetry
Maryland Geological Survey has produced a series of bathymetric (depth) maps and data reports of Maryland Reservoirs. These maps and reports are available in PDF format below.
The most recent completed reservoir project is the 2025 Baltimore City Reservoir Bathymetry project which focused on Loch Raven, Liberty, and Prettyboy Reservoirs. It aimed to assess current reservoir capacity as well as sedimentation over the past 20-25 years. The reports listed on this page focus on a comparison between datasets collected in 1997 (Loch Raven), 1998 (Prettyboy), and 2001 (Liberty).
