MGS completed fall synoptic groundwater-level measurements in approximately 200 wells
October 1, 2013
The Maryland Geological Survey, in joint programs with the U.S. Geological Survey and local governments, measured water levels in approximately 200 wells as part of a long-term effort to monitor the effects of withdrawals on the groundwater resource. Approximately 500 wells were measured in total. The data will be added to USGS's National Water Information System. Additionally the data will be used to construct potentiometric surface maps of the Patuxent, Lower Patapsco, Upper Patapsco, Magothy and Aquia aquifers in Southern Maryland for the Power Plant Assessment Program
Water-level data can be accessed using the Interactive Water-level Mapper Tool.
